1000 Squidoo Lenses - Too Much Rum for Cap

Arr... This Be The Captain! Thanks for Stopping by to check out my piratey bag of Squidoo Tricks! If you are new here, you might want to get free updates and squidoo tricks delivered straight to you via RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

The New Year is a time for goal setting. Anything is possible. Looking back on 2007 and my Squidoo experience, I get really excited.

Excited about the people I’ve met.

Excited about the potential of Squidoo.

Excited about helping others learn about it.

I’ve set a new Squidoo goal for myself in the 2008 year.

I want to have 1,000 Published lenses on my Dashboard by my wedding date - Friday, June 27, 2008.

Currently, I’m sitting at 223. That means The Captain will need to get busy. 778 lenses in 180 days is about 4 1/3 lenses a day or 30 a week.

Not only do I want to have 1,000 Published lenses by June 27, I also want to have the lenses hold up the standards of quality I outline in my Lens Publishing Checklist. If anyone out there feels my work beginning to slip, please feel free to contact me or drop a line right here.

I challenge all of you to also come up with a definite goal that is Squidoo related for the coming year. It could be a traffic goal, number of lenses built, amount of $$$ made, whatever you like.

Post your goals up here and I will create a Page on Captain Squid just so we can track them all and see how we do. (I won’t add your goal to the page if you don’t want me to)

Am I Crazy to make this a goal? or just mostly nuts?

Wow, too much rum, LOL.

Let me think about this one. I’ve been getting rid of lenses I don’t love lately (so I’m going in reverse). I think I’d like to add about 100 new lenses between now and June 2007, but only if they’re quality.

I’m sure my goal will change throughout the year. I’m a competitive person, so I’m sure if Squidoo posted a contest I’d step it up.

Wow are you going to be busy! I currently have 243 lens and I would like to have 400 by the end of 2008. I also want to improve the ones I have.

I am also thinking about getting rid of some lenses and am also working on improving some that I have. When I look back sometimes I wonder what I was doing! But I haven’t had the courage to press the delete button yet. I would like to have around 200 by June 2008.

You’re pretty nuts - but that’s part of your charm.

My goals for 2008 for Squidoo are:

250 total lenses by the end of the year
$1000 total Squidoo income for the year

First I can definitely do, I’m already up to 173, but I want to go back and do some editing & tweaking on some of those to make them better. So 250 is reasonable. $1000 of income might be ambitious, but I’m optimistic that I can pull it off!

Well, lets’s see; I’ve been here 6 months and have 86 lenses. If I keep on that pace, that would be 258 lenses by the end of 2008.

Ahhh, let’s get really ambitious (for me), and shoot for 300 lenses by the end of 2008!

My ultimate goal (for now,….. it changes often!) is to earn $2000 just in adsense royalties a month from Squidoo. Don’t know how close I’ll be to that by the end of 2008, but I’ll surely let you know!

Hi Capitan,

I say, “Go for it!”

I hope you reach your goal of 1,000 lenses. Feel free to let me know if you need any help along the way!

Christopher S.

It’s a great goal captain! i hope you get it.
My goal it’s to earn $500 month from squidoo. How many lenses to that? i really don’t know!

Well, Jonitas

I’m doing that right now with around 200-250 lenses. It’s definitely possible though!

2008 goal

100 lenses in Each Squidoo topic, that will bee 2,200 lenses, I am closing in on a 1,000 currently.

I hope you do it, because that would be an amazing and ridiculously sweet to see it accomplished!

[...] Lenses Built : 32 (woefully short of the number I need to get to 1,000 lenses) [...]
