My First 2 Years on Squidoo
Sweet Pirate Booty! I’ve been so busy the past few weeks that I just realized that i’ve celebrated my second anniversary on Squidoo during the past few weeks!
Some Fun Facts about my time on Squidoo:
I began using Squidoo right around when there was 100,000 lenses.. Now I think there’s close to a million.
I’ve got somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 lenses. While I’ve slown down my output a bit since moving to Singapore (so much to do and so little time!) I’m hoping to maintain my rate of better than a lens a day for the foreseeable future. It’s too profitable and fun not too!
I’ve had multiple lenses earn over $1,000 in a single month.
I’ve had a nice handful of lenses earn over $100 in a single month.
I’ve got hundreds of lenses that have only ever earned pennies. (and that’s okay! Success with no failure is pretty boring..)
I was an original Giant Squid and Giant Squid 100 member.
I started Squidtop - a Blog network for lensmasters that is building up a nice community. I’ve got plans to make this even more awesome in the near future, if you want to help, let me know!
The Isle of Squid lens directory has grown to include thousands of hand reviewed lenses representing some of the best that Squidoo has to offer. This is another project that I’m hoping to expand in coming months and if you want to help, let me know!
I’ve met some amazing people from not only across the US but across the entire world. Some of you folks are truly amazing!

Amazing and huge congratulations! I am in my second year, but cannot imagine having that many lenses. However, I continue to learn from you and I am so thankful! My goal is to have at least 250 lenses by the end of 2009, and I do think that is possible. If I can do that, and learn some of your lessons about making money-making lenses, it will be a successful year! Congratulations and again, thank you!
Now that you mention it - I checked my Squidoo join date and discovered I also joined two years ago this month on the 11th. Unfortunately I can’t match your output and success, and for the first year did almost nothing. Anyhow, happy Squidoo anniversary to us . . . and many more!

That’s incredibly encouraging and very motivational. Squidoo is a part of my marketing plan that I just fail to really get around to. In recent days, I’ve heard about all the possible changes coming and have feared it might not be as effective a marketing tool as in the past — before I even get around to taking true advantage of it!!

You must really enjoy doing squidoo, making 800 in 2 yrs wow, wish I could do as much! Congrats and earning so much what is the secret?
The amount of lenses you have is astounding. That is a lot of work, glad to see it has paid off for you. Some inspiration to get off my butt and create some more!

You should change your name from Captain Squid though. Somehow Captain doesn’t seem to be a high enough rank now. 
I laugh every time I read a post somewhere about how you can’t make any money on Squidoo…and Neil Armstrong walked on a soundstage in Hollyweird too!!
Thanks to your Lenses and posts (and others) to keep me going (and a 1st page Google article), I finally had a Lens do well, and I have earned nearly $200 from 6-29-09 until 8-20-09!!
Hey, you should put Squidoo on hold and try to find a cure for Cancer or AIDS or something. I bet it would be done in a week or so.
Congratulations! Funny thing how different ppl take different routes… I looked at squidoo over 2 years ago and didn’t give it much attention/time as it wasn’t that big. I guess moral of the story is get stuck in and do it because you never know how big popular something will become!
