Ready to Make some Money with PepperJam?

Arr... This Be The Captain! Thanks for Stopping by to check out my piratey bag of Squidoo Tricks! If you are new here, you might want to get free updates and squidoo tricks delivered straight to you via RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

As promised, I’m going to walk everyone through a sample lens built with a Pepperjam affiliate program. If you haven’t already, learn how you can sign up with Pepperjam and get 10 bucks free so you can follow along. Not totally sure what type of affiliate network PepperJam is? Read my full Pepperjam Review.

Now, I’m going to use Pepperjam specifically, but a lot of these techniques can be used with any network. I could probably write an e-book on this or something but 1) I’ma nice pirate and 2) I don’t have the time,  so instead I’ll do a series of posts here on Captain Squid outlining how to build lenses that are high quality, useful, unique, rank well, and convert at much higher percentages than most affiliate ’sales pitch’ lenses do.

Step 1: Find an Affiliate Program on PepperJam

When you first log in, you will see a menu across the top, click on the menu item that says ‘Find Partners’

Click \'Find Partners\'

You are now at the list of all the available affiliates for PepperJam. Just so everyone can follow along, I’m going to pick a program that has ‘automatic’ acceptance on it meaning that approval or denial will be instant (and it’s usually approved).

I did a search for the affiliates in the ‘Art/Photo/Music’ category and immediately noticed the ‘Jimi Hendrix Clothing Store’. I like classic rock, so we’ll build this lens with that store in mind.

Click on ‘view terms’ to see what the payouts are like for a particular affiliate.

when you click ‘view terms’ a new window will pop open, showing you a bunch of information about the program:

Jimi Hendrix Affiliate Program

I’ve highlighted a few key areas : The website for the program (make sure and check it out), the commissions (click ‘Sale’ to expand it and show all the terms), and the ‘Join Now’ Button.

It looks like our commissions start out at 8% and can go up to 10% with significant sales ($2500 a month) with a bunch of shirts in the $89 range, that works out to just about 1 sale a day, definitely doable.

Okay, go ahead and click ‘Join Now’ on your program and you should be ready to go!

Okay, now that we have our affiliate, tomorrow we will begin building our lens so stay tuned…

Hey! Did it ever show in your account that I signed up using your link? It’s not showing anything for me and I wanted to double-check before I asked them about it. (Although, I have to say, the one affiliate specific question I asked has yet to be answered. Sigh. Wanted more stuff for the lens I did on Andy’s Airplanes.)

I’m really excited about this series! I signed up with PepperJam and I’ve seen some great advertisers on there and was wondering how to weave them seamlessly into my lenses.

One of the areas I want to improve most on with Squidoo lenses is moving away from sales pitch lenses that can still convert well. Thanks for putting this series together!

Hey Captain!

So glad you took the time to put a PJ tutorial together for us. You rock Squidom…and beyond!

This is going to be a great series. I have sold clickbank products from my Squidoo lenses, but I have not sold any Pepperjam products.

oh, I am so glad you are doing this! I love Pepperjam and want to learn how to use it more effectively! Thank you!

Just getting into the swing with Pepperjam — BTW, I know I signed up eons ago for your newsletter and was receiving it once. Did you stop sending it out? Can’t tell you the last time I got it.

Seemed interesting from the start. Will you be posting more?
