Instead, go into your lens and change small, little things about it every day for a week, and republish it every day. Some great examples would be:

Update and refresh your keywords

Re-write your introduction module

Make sure your Guestbook has a unique title

A new lens is a lot like a baby pirate. They both need a little attention and care in order to grow up into big , strong , oceangoing Pirates and Squids.

Keep up the tinkering and by the end of the week you should be pleasantly surprised at the results. If you haven’t noticed any increase at all in two or three days, leave a comment here and we’ll examine the problem further.

This is a basic Squidoo Tip, but I have seen the question come up quite often.

How do you get your lens listed in Squidoo Search Results?

When you first claim a lens it in what is called Work In Progress (WIP) status. That means that your lens needs a little more work before it can move into Published.

How do you know if your lens is Published yet? A little green checkmark next to your lens name in the Dashboard means your lens is published. A small grey minus sign means that your leans is not Published yet.

Step-by-Step

1.Build at least three (3) different modules for your lens besides the provided introduction module. Guestbooks do not count toward this total either. Some examples would be:

1 Wikipedia, 1 eBay, 1 YouTube

1 Text/Write, 1 RSS Feed, 1 Flickr Module

Note: These are just examples. You must use at least three modules, but they can be any combination of modules you like. You can even put more modules in! In fact, the Captain Recommends it!

2. Once you have filled out three modules besides the Introduction and Guestbook, click Publish.

3. After the next lensrank update (This usually occurs in the early AM on the East Coast of the US) your lens should show up with a green Checkmark!

Your lens is now live and searchable on Squidoo and by the great Google. However, there is a large difference between being published and actually being good. No fears, I’m hear to help you make that transition over the next days, weeks, and months to come!

Homework: Publish your First Lens. Post in the comments with a link and I will send you a customized tip on improving your specific lens straight to your mailbox!
