View Multiple Squidoo Accounts at Once
I know some lensmasters like to break out their lenses into different accounts depending on the content of the lens. For example, I know of several that have dedicated accounts for their music related lenses.
I’ve stayed away from this for the most part, mainly because it’s something of a hassle to remember which lenses are in which accounts and I like seeing as much of a comprehensive overview of my Squidoo activities as possible.
However, there are times when I want to be logged into two accounts at once and I’ve figured out a nice little trick for it.
When you are logged into Squidoo, the system and your browser are talking to each other through a ‘cookie’. This is why if you open a second tab in Firefox you will still be logged into Squidoo under the same account. Likewise, if you log off in one tab you will bee logged off in all tabs.
The solution to this is to open a second browser of a different type such as Google’s new Chrome browser or Flock or Opera (I can’t ever get anything to work in IE so I’m leaving it out).
My personal choice is Google chrome because it’s really lightweight and your computer won’t bog down running it alongside firefox.
By using two browsers, you can be logged in to one account in each browser.
Chrome also has an ‘incognito’ mode that may allow you to be logged into even more accounts at once but I haven’t needed to be on more than two at once so I haven’t tested it out.
Does anyone else have any ideas for managing multiple squidoo accounts at the same time?

I have five Squidoo accounts. If I want to see a list of all of my lenses in order by rank, I can go to my private group at http://www.squidoo.com/groups/squidprincess and all of them will be there.
Otherwise, it’s log in and log out … thank goodness that with Firefox I can just type the first letter of my account email and then two more keystrokes and the email and my password are filled in!
Most of the time it takes something this simple for me to have a “DUH”, why didn’t I think of that moment; and this is definitely one of them. I tend to neglect my other account more than I should because I forget to log on. I always assumed that both browsers would share the same cookies so I didn’t think this was possible.
Thanks for the great tips, today and other days.
I was using a firefox addon called CookiePie a few months ago, but it wouldn’t allow editing the lenses in the different accounts. It seemed to log me in to them though, but mess up when things got too deep.
I stopped using it because it was messing up my rememberthemilk.com login.
I have about 5 browsers installed anyway now, but I tend to just use firefox in accounts one at a time. Haven’t tried the chrome incognito yet. I believe it just leaves no trace of your browsing, not isolate each tab.
When chrome starts allowing addons like firefox I just may switch to it. It is a really beautiful browser. Fast too.
Good morning! I’m seeing more and more lensmasters with multiple IDs for organizing their lenses in a focused theme. Personally I’ve kept all my lenses under my one ID of JaguarJulie. But, nice to hear more of your tips should I decide to break out my lenses to another ID.
Thinking about chrome … might be trying that next.
I wonder if the Firefox Addon Cookie Swap would work with Squidoo. I have not tested it yet. It’s made so you can be logged in to multiple web e-mail accounts like Gmail and Yahoo Mail but works with some other sites too. http://cookieSwap.mozdev.org/
So far I have three main subjects. I didn’t think about multiple accounts until I created my lens http://www.squidoo.com/squidooqueen-KStone
I have have adding plexo and duel for your opinions. And I do have a question in there about multiple accounts. I would like to hear from all of you.
I can’t help but think, most my fans are for my dogs lenses and not the business ones. It seems to make sense to have more than one account. I’m assuming that you wouldn’t upload the same picture of you in the different accounts.
As far as Chrome, I have downloaded it, but not really used it yet.

I’ll keep this tip in mind for the time when I do have multiple accounts, thanks!
